About Williams & Sherrill
Two friends, one shared obsession with rooms that feel finished.
Williams & Sherrill started the way most good ideas do
over coffee, complaining about a living room neither of us could get right.

Josephine Williams had spent a decade styling homes for other people. Marlowe Sherrill had spent that same decade quietly hoarding paint swatches and asking anyone who’d listen why their curtains looked “off.” Neither of us set out to start a journal. We just kept sending each other photos of rooms we loved, breaking down why they worked — the lighting, the layering, the one slightly wrong lamp that somehow made everything right.

Eventually the group chat became a shared doc. The shared doc became this.
Williams & Sherrill is what happens when two people who talk about lighting angles at dinner parties finally give themselves somewhere to put it all. We write the way we’d talk to a friend standing in the middle of their own living room, phone in hand, wondering where to start.
No gatekeeping, no “just hire a designer.” Just the stuff we’ve learned, room by room.
